Mission Statement:

To continue operation of the MacGregor Ranch as a high mountain historic working cattle ranch and to support youth education. The focus of the Ranch will be on quality experiences through respect for the land, the ranch and its history - For the future generations of tomorrow's leaders.

Programs/Services:

The MacGregor Ranch offers many educational programs that provide learning opportunities for youth about Colorado history, ranching and farming, and environmental stewardship. We offer school field trips and special groups that include tours of the 1896 MacGregor Family home and historic barns, as well as wagon rides and a nature trail with a nature center. We also host a summer Heritage Camp where children learn about the MacGregor Family, as well as farming and ranching from the past to the present. We also offer a camping area for scout groups along with special use of areas for scout activities. The trust also awards a scholarship each year to a local graduating high school senior.

The 1896 MacGregor Family house and outbuildings are open to the public for tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The museum and small gift shop is completely volunteer staffed. We rely on the help of volunteers and service groups to keep offering the programs we do. We have a multitude of volunteer opportunities available.

Goals & Outcomes:

The MacGregor Ranch strives to provide as many educational opportunities as possible and we are constantly looking for ways to expand our educational offerings. Every year we receive numerous requests from schools for field trips, and our goal is to allow every school group to visit the ranch free of charge.

For every $100 donated, we are able to provide an educational field trip opportunity to one school.

Our summer camp provides unique experiences in agriculture that most children will never experience anywhere else. Many local families cannot afford the tuition to camp, so we raise money every year to provide scholarships so every local child has the opportunity to attend camp.

For every $250 donated, we are able to provide one scholarship to a local child to attend our summer Heritage Camp.
