Mission Statement:

The mission of the Glen Haven Area Volunteer Fire Department is to provide critical first-responder emergency services to a 36-square-mile area in and surrounding the unincorporated community of Glen Haven, accessed from Larimer County Road 43 between Drake and Estes Park.

Key programs include response to: structure fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, wild land fires, rescue assistance, public safety training, hazardous materials mitigation and requested mutual aid from at least nine other local, state, and federal agencies.

Goals & Outcomes:

GHAVFD was organized in 1964 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1994. It provides primary emergency services for Glen Haven, which was established in 1913, and includes around 500 properties and between 700-1,000 residents.

GHAVFD is 100% funded by donations, and needs approximately $50,000 per year for operating expenses. A current and pressing need is an additional $30,000 for an adaptive cover for the fire department pickup truck. This cover will allow the truck to be used by first responders in place of the ambulance for emergency patient transport to and from areas that the ambulance cannot access.
