“One of the metrics of the quality of a community is their library. The enthusiasm with which people invest in their local library is a key indicator of the communities investment in the future. Nothing occurs without literacy. The greatest mathematicians had to first learn to read. Literacy is necessary for learning and the sharing of knowledge, the precursor to wisdom. A library’s opportunity typically exceeds the budget generated by tax dollars. The foundation stands in the fiscal gap between budgetary constraint and literary opportunity. Foundation support is one of the keys to the future of Estes Park.”
