Mission Statement:

The Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation, Inc. supports the mission of the Estes Park Museum through fundraising, publications, volunteerism, and special projects and events.

Programs/Services:

Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation (EPMFF) raises funds to support the Estes Park Museum through memberships, events such as historic tours and the Coolest Car Show in Colorado, and specific requests. The funds are used for capital improvements to the Museum and to purchase objects for the permanent collection. In addition, the Friends Press arm of EPMFF promotes an understanding and appreciation of the history of the Estes Park area through the publication of numerous books.

Goals & Outcomes:

Funds raised by EPMFF have been used to add new permanent exhibits to the Museum, create an event garden, install accessible (ADA) doors, create a children's book on the history of the Estes Park area (being used in local schools), install solar light bollards along the outdoor walkways, purchase temperature and humidity monitors for all Museum buildings, acquire historical objects for the permanent collection, and more. This year alone, EPMFF's Friends Press has published a family guide to Rocky Mountain National Park, entitled "Exploring the Park Together," and "A Slice of History and A Piece of Pie," part history of early Estes Park families, part cookbook. The newest publication is a book on the geology, history and ecology of RMNP and the changes occurring in the park. Past publications include a finalist for the Colorado Book Awards.
