About Mountain Strong

We Are Mountain Strong

Mountain Strong for Nonprofits (MS4NP) is a collaboration of the Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center (EPNRC) in partnership with participating nonprofits, the Estes Park News, Stage 2 Studios and Neanderthal Social Media. Development of the website, video and promotional materials were made possible by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado.

In the wake of the flood, area nonprofits have been faced with increased requests and decreased funding. MS4NP was proposed as a way to provide additional fundraising opportunities and support to specifically address revenues lost as a result of the flood.

Many nonprofits provide services that are essential to the sustainability of life in the Estes Valley and surrounding communities. They provide food, medical services, clothing and supplies, tutoring, safety, mentoring for children, preschool education, and internet access to name a few. The cultural opportunities offered by nonprofits are also an important part of the quality of life and visitor experience.

All of these nonprofits are run by energized and passionate people, most of whom are volunteers and many who have had their own flood related issues to face. Through it all, these individuals have worked hard to continue to offer the services community members and visitors need.

Join the Mountain Strong Movement

Just as people from around the country proudly wore Mountain Strong t-shirts and sweatshirts in support of flood recovery, we hope you will join in supporting our charitable organizations through Mountain Strong for Nonprofits.

You’ll be helping nonprofits that had to cancel their annual fundraisers or suspended fundraising drives due to the fact that they are mostly supported by local donors who suffered losses as a result of the flood.

You’ll be helping nonprofits who have seen a tremendous increase in the need for the services they provide, in addition to dealing with reduced income.

You’ll not only be helping to recoup lost or previously expected revenue but helping fund new and expanded services desperately needed by community members as a result of the disaster.

Your Donations Are Direct

The money donated through this site goes directly to the chosen organization. Funds don’t flow through the website/EPNRC and no fees are charged by the website/EPNRC.

When you click a donate button, you will be taken directly to the chosen organization’s secure payment processing system for the transaction. No personal or payment information is collected by the website.

Nonprofits Not on the List

Although we’ve made our best efforts to let all of the nonprofits in Estes and the surrounding communities know about this program, there surely are some who didn’t hear about it before the launch.

To participate, organizations must be:

  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit
  • Headquartered or providing services in Estes Park or the surrounding mountain communities including Glen Haven, Drake, Allenspark, Lyons, Big Elk Meadows and Pinewood Springs
  • Registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and able to provide a certificate of good standing
  • Willing to work collaboratively and promote the Mountain Strong for Nonprofits website/program via your nonprofit’s publications, website, social media, email, etc.

If your organization is interested in joining us and meets the requirements above, please contact EPNRC’s director, Jill Lancaster at or 970-480-7805.
